Digital signal synthesiser

The digital synthesizer has a generator (1) for digital signal samples to be converted to an analogue signal of set frequency. A noise signal is generated (2), encoded in the same number (N) of bits as the digital signal, and then truncated to M bits before being added (4) to the digital signal. The signal from the adder is applied to a digital-to-analogue converter (3).
