Timber (1') is dried inside an oven (1) mounted on a stand (2) and provided with a loading door (3) for adding timber, and with an unloading door (4) having a double-mantle hatch (5) for supplying and removing cooling water (5', 5''). The oven contains magnetrons or microwave canons (6) movably mounted on two wheels on either side of the oven, and located with electronic units beneath a protective hood (7) in the top part of the oven. A fan (8) inside the hood is used to blow cold air (9) over the transformer units (7') and microwave canons in order to cool them. The timber is cooled by water and the condensate formed is removed via a drain (10).
