The arrangement is located at a node (P1) connected to a network (11) and contains a reaction device (16) that responds to a monitoring packet from an adjacent downstream node by sending a reaction packet to the adjacent node. There is a decision device (17) that sends a monitoring packet to an adjacent upstream node, and detects that the upstream node has detached from the network, unless it receives a reaction packet in response and a notification device (17). The notification device informs all other nodes that the upstream adjacent node has detached, using a notification packet.
