The clamping device acts on an object (12) and consists of a fixed element, which carries an external thread, and a rotating mobile element (2), which carries a mating internal thread. The mobile element is thus designed to be displaced along the thread, by rotation, into the support position, where a support surface (23) is in contact with the object. The mobile element is provided with the means to allow the element to be split longitudinally to allow it to be separated from the thread and thus displaced along the thread without the rotation.
