The present invention relates to an arrangement and a method for more efficient treatment of the chemical melt that is produced in the boiler installation of a chemical pulp mill, especially for improving the recovery of heat therein. The arrangement comprises: means for consolidating hot melt coming from the recovery boiler and for recovering heat energy, which is then released for use in the mill and means for cooling the hot melt which is in solid form for dissolving and for recovering the energy, which is then released for use in the mill.
