Plant for the production of paint by the mixing of powdered paint base with water consists of a paste zone (1) with a mixing/transport section (9) and a water addition point (8), followed by a grinding zone (3) and a paint dispensing point (4). The proportion of water to powder is controlled automatically. A shaft (6) runs inside the past zone vessel (5) and is fixed to the drum (12) of the ball mill at (3). End faces inside this mill as well as dividers which form segments radiating from the centre are constructed of perforated plates or screens. Additional water can be supplied at (17). An additional transport zone (11) containing skewed shear blades (1) precedes the grinding zone (3). A further mixing/transport zone (20) precedes the dispensing point (4). The outlet stub (18) can be rotated to be adapted to the required level in the mixer. |
