The invention pertains to devices that prevent vehicles from leaving the carriageway.The barrier consists of stationary and hanging blocks. The stationary block consists of a vertical column, embedded into the ground to a certain depth. A protective profiled strip is fixed to the column. The hanging element consists of a protective profiled strip. The stationary and the hanging strips are loosely interconnected with cables going lengthways across the strips' indentations via apertures in the columns and lugs attached to the strips.At the moment of the vehicle's collision with the border, the profiled strips give way and in the case of stronger impact, the cables give way as well.
