Fish deterrent system for water intake channel uses pulses of light and sound to repel fish which might otherwise enter channel

The entrance to the water channel (1), e.g. between a reservoir or river and a water treatment plant, is partially blocked by a framework (2) of horizontal transparent tubes (3). Inside the tubes are flashing light emitters (4) and loudspeaker units (5). The frequency of the sound outputs and the periodicity of the flashes are controlled by a control unit (11) on the side of the channel. The frame can be hoisted (7) out for maintenance and has an in-built cleaning assembly (12).
