MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND MAGNETIC RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the alteration or forgery of a magnetic recording medium by forming an asymmetrical areas having different array patterns of heating bars between two track elements at a part of a recording track. SOLUTION: Two track elements 40a and 40b are placed almost in parallel to each other within an unreversible recording layer 4 to form a recording track 40. Then an asymmetrical layer 410 having different array patterns of heating bars 41a, 42a, and 43a between both elements 40a and 40b is formed at a part of the track 40. Meanwhile, the track 40 is divided into two parts in its longitudinal direction together with a substrate 2 and a heating bar 44a shorter than the bars 42a and 43a is described between these bars 42a and 43a of the element 40a. In the same way, a heating bar 44b shorter than the bars 41b and 42b is described between these bars 41b and 42b of the element 40b respectively.
