<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for code recognition which can accurately and speedily recognize a code printed on a rotary body such as a can product and a bottle product carried fast while rotated and perform necessary inspection, management, etc., according to the code. SOLUTION: The system is equipped with a code printing means which print a code consisting of symbols (X2-A2...X1-A1) specified by the number of dots in a print area MA1 inside a specific-radius circle having its center at a center point Oc of the bottom surface or top surface part of the rotary body along its radius, an image pickup means which picks up an image of the print area of the rotary body carried along a specific path, and a code recognizing means which detects and counts dots included in respective divisional areas B, C, D and E formed by dividing the print area picked up by the image pickup means into concentric areas having width corresponding to print intervals of the respective symbols and decodes the respective symbols according to their counted values to recognize the code.</p> |
