The refrigerating block (1) has a container (2) of transmissive material that can maintain a low temperature below the null point on the Celsius scale, and a cooling content (3) consisting of carbon dioxide slush placed in the transparent container and retained by it. The container material has an air transmissivity of between 100 and 500 m<3>/m<2>/mn at an air pressure of about 196 Pa. Independent claims are also included for a method and an arrangement for producing a cooling block.
