PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having excellent life performance, by making a grid by expanding or blanking a sheet made of a lead alloy and filling the grid with a paste-like active material including lead powder obtained by utilizing blanked wastes then produced. SOLUTION: A blanked grid is formed by blanking a rolled sheet made out of a slab of a tin alloy having 0.07 wt.% lead and 1.5 wt.% calcium. A fixed amount of blanked waste produced by the blanking is put into, and pulverized by, a ball mill pulverizer, thereby making lead powder, and the lead powder thus obtained out of the blanked waste of various kinds is mixed at various mixing ratios with lead powder obtained out of a pure lead block and kneaded with dilute sulfuric acid, thereby making a paste-like active material, which is packed in the grid to make a positive electrode plate. By using the blanking waste for filling the grid, a cost increase due to the blanked waste is substantially thoroughly eliminated, and the amount of lead blocks case for making lead powder is decreased, whereby reducing costs. |
