PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SR motor which can reduce torque ripple even if an inexpensive low-resolution rotational position sensor is adopted. SOLUTION: This is an SR(switched reluctance) motor that the stator has eight poles and the rotor has six poles and four phases, that the tooth angle of the rotor is larger than the tooth angle of the stator, that a rotational position sensor 4 which generates current application phase switching signals has four pieces of sensor elements for generating forty eight pulses per revolution, that a square wave constant current is applied to the current application phase, and that this motor performs one-phase excitation in a low-speed region where the revolutions operated by the rotational position sensor 4 is not more than predetermined revolutions, and performs one-two phase excitation in a high speed region where it is not less than the predetermined revolutions. |
