PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade an influence of a characteristic of a monitor diode and to obtain a best reproducing output by moving an optical pickup to a signal unrecorded area on a disk, detecting a reflection light quantity in the signal unrecorded area, using the detected light quantity as a reference value and adjusting the reproducing output. SOLUTION: A quantity of a beam reflected by the disk 1 is detected by a reflection light quantity detection circuit 14 to be stored in a memory circuit provided in a system control circuit 9 as the reference data. When a position of a light beam becomes a recording start position of a test signal, the recording operation of the test signal is started by a recording output, and the reproducing output at a recording start time is made larger than the reproducing output set when the signal in the signal unrecorded area is read to be performed. The quantity of the beam reflected from the disk 1 of the light beam emitted by the reproducing output is detected by the reflection light quantity detection circuit 14 whenever a reproducing output of a laser is changed, and output lowering operation is stopped when the light quantity becomes equal to the reference data. |
