PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and surely quantitate camera characteristics such as focus and gain. SOLUTION: A CCD camera 3 photographs a prescribed area of a guide rail 2 at a prescribed position, of which a tape 1 in a relative color (white) to that of the guide rail is stuck, and the prescribed area includes borders between the tape and the guide rail. An image processing circuit 4 converts a photographed signal into digital data, which are given to an arithmetic circuit 5. The arithmetic circuit 5 obtains the sum of density of the image data in a X-direction, obtains a slant of the orders based on the sum of density and obtains a width W of the borders, based on the obtained slant of the borders and provides an output of the arithmetic processing. When quantitating the characteristics, the operator adjusts a focus of the CCD camera 3 so as to obtain a relation of the border width W=1 so as to denote a matched focus, while viewing an image on a display screen based on the processing result from the arithmetic processing circuit. Thus, camera characteristics can be quantitated easily and surely without causing even slight deviations. |
