IC CARD READER AND WRITER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely read and write the information on an IC card by preparing a pocket which can be stored in a reading and/or writing position with insertion of the IC card and also can be easily pulled out. SOLUTION: An IC card reader/writer 1 has a pocket 4 which includes a reading/writing part 3 to read and write the information out of and into an IC card 2. The pocket 4 has an open card inserting/ejecting port 4A at its top part and also a pawl 4C at a prescribed position properly distant from the port 4A to prevent the card 2 from being inadvertently pulled out. The card 2 which is put into the large port 4A can be accurately positioned at the inner part 3 along a guide. Meanwhile, the card 2 that is partly protruding over the port 4A can be easily pulled out by fingers after the desired information is read or written.
