PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the character communication system which responses to emergency. SOLUTION: A character transmission terminal 1 sends a character communication message consisting of character information and ringer control information to a public line network 2, and the public line network 2 delivers the received character communication message to a character communication terminal 3. A central controller 4 reads character information of the character communication message from a message reception section 5 and stores the information to a character information storage section 6 and drives a ringer 7 when the result of analyzing ringer control information of the character communication message indicates 'presence' of ringer control. A subscriber recognizes that the emergency of the received character information is high, based on ringing of the ringer 7, and the central controller 4 displays the character information read from the character information storage section 6 to a character information display section 9 when an operation section 8 executes character information read operation. |
