PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for processing image with which suitable color space transformation is performed corresponding to the photographic state of image data. SOLUTION: A host computer 10 receives image data depending on the color space of a device such as a digital video camera 11 from that device and based on a parameter showing the photographic state of that device added to the received image data and color space transformation characteristics corresponding to prepared plural photographic conditions, color space transformation is performed to the received image data.
