<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid unnecessary output of an input image by allowing a postprocessing device which performs a staple processing to switch to a process for storing input image data in an image storage means without resetting staple specification in the case of a staple stylus end state. SOLUTION: If staple stylus runs out when a staple-specified image is received, the inputted image is stored on a disk drive 5 while an error message urging a user to do replenishment with staple stylus is displayed on the screens, etc., of a panel device 3 and a host device 4. Then a storage reason number is set. When there are staple stylus, the image data are sent to an engine 2 as usual. Thus, the image is stored in the case of the staple stylus end state, so that output result that the user expect can be obtained by loading staple stylus and operating for the output of the stored image. When the user judges that stapling is not necessary, the stored image can be outputted as it is.</p> |
