PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent switching noise from being superposed onto a servo signal in a method and a device for driving an actuator that performs the PWM driving of the actuator. SOLUTION: The device has a storage disk 1, a head 2 that reads the information of the storage disk 1, a PWM driver 9 that generates a driving current with a pulse width corresponding to a current instruction value, a linear driver 10 that generates the driving current with a level corresponding to the current instruction value 10, an actuator VCM that is driven by the drive current and moves the head 2, and a control circuit 7 that creates the current instruction value for positioning the head according to servo information being read from the storage disk 1. In this constitution, the driving method includes a step for the PWM driving of an actuator by the PWM driver 9, and a step for change from the PWM driving to linear driving due to the linear driver while the control circuit 7 reads the servo information during the PWM driving. |
