摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller of stable quality and excellent softness by setting thermoplastic elastomer and electrical conductive filler as main components, and forming an elastic body layer consisting of composition having true density larger than apparent density. SOLUTION: This roller is formed into an elastic body layer out of composition consisting of thermoplastic elastomer and electrical conductive filler as the main components. Any thermoplastic elastomer is acceptable so far as it can be formed by melting, and styrene series and/or olefine series are favorable. For the electrical conductive filler, carbon material, metal material, surface treated metallic oxide powder, or the like is used. In the manufacturing method of the roller, the main components are mixed into pellets, and they are dry- blended with a foaming agent to be molded by melting. The apparent density is expressed by (elastomer part mass)/[π×(roller radius)<2> -(core material radius)<2> }×(roller length)] and for obtaining sufficient softness, the true density/ the apparent density is favorable to be over 1.01. In this way, the roller of softness and overall balanced performance can be provided.
