PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the devices compact and to enhance the reliability of detecting the T/C ratio with an inductance detection sensor. SOLUTION: A compact stirring screw 5 whose diameter is 10 to 16 mm is housed in the stirring chamber R2 of a developing container 1 and the inductance detection sensor 10 is arranged on the side wall of the chamber R2. When the central point of the detection surface of the sensor 10 is set within the first to fourth quadrants in a coordinate space with the rotation center axis of the screw 5 as an original point within a plane orthogonal to the rotation center axis of the screw 5 and an angle θ formed by a straight line passed through the rotation center axis and the central point of toner concentration and a horizontal line passed through the rotation center axis is -35 deg.<=θ<=+20 deg. assuming that the inside of the first quadrant is set to '+' and the inside of the fourth quadrant is set to '-'. Besides, when the most approximate distance (m) between the outermost line of the stirring member is denoted as Dmin, the radius of the detection surface is denoted as (r) and the rotation radius (m) of the outermost line of the stirring member is denoted as R, the relation of 0<=Dmin<=1×10<-3> and the relation of 0.4<=r/R<=0.75 are satisfied. |
