PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve stem seal reconciling the sealing performance with the supplying performance of a lubricating oil and capable of easily adjusting them. SOLUTION: A plurality of projections 3d are disposed on the inclined surface at the lubricating oil chamber side (O) of a seal lip 3a in the peripheral direction with a predetermined space, and the front edges of the projections 3d are slidably moved on the outer peripheral surface of the valve stem, similar to the lip front edge of the seal lip 3a. The number of the projections 3d, the contact area of the valve stems of the projections 3d to the outer peripheral surface, and the width (W) are set in accordance with the necessary quantity of the lubricating oil supplied to the annular gap between the valve stem and the valve guide, or the like. |
