PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission line which enables an optical signal to be transmitted more stably for a longer distance. SOLUTION: In a first section, optical transmission lines 11 and 12 are set, to have abnormal dispersion, dispersion compensators 21 and 22 are set to have normal dispersion and the average dispersion of the combining of both is set to have a normal dispersion. In a second section, the optical fiber transmission lines 11 and 12 are set to have abnormal dispersion, the dispersion compensators 21 and 22 are set to have normal dispersion and the average dispersion of the combining of both is set to have abnormal dispersion. By connecting these first and second sections into a pair and having this pair continue in plural, stable and long distance transmission of the optical signal is enabled. |
