PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily manufacture a grating type optical component capable of uniformly blocking the transmission of the light of the wavelength area of a 1650 nm band for instance, by using an excimer laser. SOLUTION: At the time of manufacturing the grating type optical component in which the refraction index of a grating formation area 6 in the core of an optical fiber 1 is cyclically changed in an optical axis direction, by moving a mirror 8 in the direction of an arrow, a grating is formed while scanning laser beams excited from the excimer laser in the longitudinal direction of the grating formation area 6. The grating formation area 6 is irradiated with the laser beams while measuring the wavelength dependency of light transmission blocking characteristics in the grating formation area 6, and when the wavelength area of small light transmission blocking characteristics is generated, by selectively laser-irradiating a core area corresponding to the area, the wavelength dependency of the light transmission blocking characteristics in the grating formation area 6 is reduced. |
