摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a grating provided with a larger refraction index change amount formable, to provide a wide reflection band and improved wavelength interruption characteristics and make a plane optical waveguide device superior in workability and suitable for integration. SOLUTION: This plane optical waveguide device is provided with first and second couplers 5a and 5b formed by bringing prescribed two parts of two optical waveguides 3a and 3b close to each other. In this case, chirp gratings 4a and 4b for reflecting the optical signals of a prescribed first wavelength made incident by irradiating ultraviolet rays through a chirp grating mask and transmitting the optical signals of a prescribed second wavelength are formed respectively on the two optical waveguides 3a and 3b positioned between the first and second couplers 5a and 5b.
