PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an information signal from being duplicated unauthorizedly by limiting the reproduction and output of the unauthorizedly duplicated information signal. SOLUTION: Duplication control information is added to a video signal regularly made and recorded in a disk, while in the case of an information signal of which duplication is prohibited, ciphering processing is performed. When a video signal recorded in a disk 100 is reproduced, a ciphering detecting section 12 detects whether ciphering processing is performed for the video signal or not, and this detected output S14 is supplied to a reproduction permission/prohibition control section 15. Also, a duplication control information detecting section 14 detects duplication control information added to this from a video signal in which cipher is deciphered, and this detected output S16 is supplied to the reproduction permission/prohibition control section 15. The reproduction permission/prohibition control section 15 performs reproduction limiting control of an information signal such as prohibition of reproducing a video signal, preventing of reproducing normally a video signal, and the like based on combination of ciphering/non-ciphering and contents of duplication control indicated by duplication control information. |
