PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a clutch from early deteriorating due to slippage for a long time by stopping the connection of the clutch, when a gear except a starting gear previously set in a transmission at stopping is engaged. SOLUTION: At starting a vehicle, when a driver operates a shift lever to engage a gear, a control unit 79 judges that the gear is engaged, from the output of a gear position sensor 84 and a knob switch 108. Next, based on the output of a vehicle speed sensor 92, the sort of the engaged gear is judged, after confirming the vehicle is during stopping at present. When an excessively high gear except a starting gear is selected, a warning device 98 is made ON to call the driver's attention so as to reengage the gear. After confirming the ON state of a side brake based on the output of a side brake switch, the connection of a main clutch is stopped. Thus, even when the driver raises engine speed, the vehicle is not started. |
