The dispenser for mixed beverages has a dispense head (10, 20) with one or more outlets (11) for fluids to be dispensed, a fluid supply line for each fluid and a valve with valve actuation (13, 14, 25, 26) means that opens or closes the outlet. Each supply line has an ultrasonic flow sensor (18, 19, 32) connected to a control means (15) which controls the valve actuation means (13, 14, 25, 26) whereby the valve opens on receiving a start signal and closes when a pre-determined amount of fluid has been achieved. The valves of each supply line are specially shaped. Their cross section increases in area in downstream or upstream direction whereby movement of the closure member from the first position towards the second position opens a flow channel through a groove.
