This is a shrink chuck (1) whose socket bore (3) has axial grooves (6) connected to the coolant and lubricant feed channel (7). The grooves may be straight or spiralled and the coolant feeds forward along the tool casing (4) to the tip of the drilling or cutting tool. (9) is a distribution point spreading the fluid over the grooves. The bore (3) is wider than the tool shank as inserted cold into the chuck bore prior to shrinking.
