The laser current supply device converts a DC voltage from a DC source (10) into an AC voltage supplied to a gas for providing a HF discharge, using a number of inverters (13,14), with several current paths (G1,G2,G3,G4) containing series high-speed semiconductor switches, for providing an AC current pulse sequence fed to a pair of output terminals.
