The mold is filled with molten plastic by injection molding, transfer molding or pressing. The mold is opened before cooling. The decorative layer is laid into the open mold. The decorative layer is coated by adhesive on the side facing the molding. The mold is closed, bringing the layer against the molding. The lined molding is removed after cooling. Preferred Features: During mold closure, projecting decorative sheet is cut off, using plunging- and squeezing edges mounted on the mold. Decorative layers are sheet, materials, non-wovens or woven fabrics. Hot melt adhesive is employed. The mold is opened at 80-120 deg C. The molding is retained by holders on the mold, when opening takes place. They are opposite the side to be decorated.
