The collet chuck (12) holds position in its work-clamping setting and has an outer cone section (27) working with an inner cone section (13) of the clamping sleeve (10) at the chuck jaws (19). At its end furthest from the jaws, the collet chuck has a cylindrical guide sector (29) working in conjunction with the cylindrical guide sector (15) of the axial bore (11) of the clamping sleeve (10). The axial bore (22) through the collet chuck (12) has an expanded work-acceptance sector (21) near the chuck jaws (19), this sector shorter than the jaws.
