The current invention relates to a method and a device for converting a rand om number sequence into carrier frequencies fx for mobile radio transmission. If the decision is positive, the value of the k bit s is used to select the next carrier frequency fx. The carrier frequency is selected, for instance, from a table in which the possible carrier frequenci es are allocated to certain positions. The inventive method and the inventive device can be carried out and used in a mobile radio device in an easy, reliable and economical manner.
