摘要 The assembly (10) for the direct or indirect application of a paste or liquid coating (16) to the surface of a moving web (14), of paper or cardboard, has a coating spreader (22). A setting system (28) acts on the spreader (22), with at least one electrochemical setting unit (36). The spreader (22) smoothes and equalizes the applied coating layer (20) of the medium (16) on the web (14). The electrochemical setting unit (36) is at an extending section (32) of the setting unit (28) on one side and at a fixed frame leg (30a) of the fixed frame unit (30). A further electrochemical unit can be fitted which is compressed as the first unit expands. Each electrochemical setting unit (36) has an electrical resistance (54) to short circuit the setting unit when the other is in use. A spring (38) is between the extending (32) and fixed frame (30a) units, to be compressed or extended when the electrochemical setting unit (36) expands. The spring can be the coating spreader (22). The extending section can have a housing (32) to shroud the electrochemical setting unit (36), the fixed housing leg (30a) and spring (38) and/or the additional electrochemical setting unit, where the fixed housing leg (30a) passes through an opening (32a) in the housing (32). The housing can also be as a partial shrouding for the extending section and the operating components. The extending section and the fixed frame section can be linked together by walls with a variable and preferably stretch length, with the electrochemical setting unit lodged in a chamber formed by the walls. At least one outer shrouding of the electrochemical setting unit (36) can stretch. At least one additional electrochemical setting unit is with the first unit, in parallel and/or series and/or with further unit. The assembly has a movement path sensor (50) and/or a force sensor (52) and a temp. sensor (51). The control (40) determines the charge vol. held at the setting unit and the extracted charge vol. The control (40) operates the electrochemical setting unit by current or voltage control. The setting system has a number of setting units across the web width, where at least some have at least one electrochemical setting component. An Independent claim is also included for the operation of the coating spreader setting adjustment, using an electrochemical setting unit (36) occupying a space of 10-250 cm<3>, to exert a setting force of 50-1000 N. Preferred Features: The position and/or force control uses signals from sensors (40,50-52) and a control (40).
