The present invention relates to a method and a device for supplying pasty printing ink to printing machines. The purpose of this invention is to provide a method and a device for supplying ink according to an improved dosage while minimising cleaning operations. To this end, the quantity of printing ink is divided into a minimal ink quantity (4) and into a quantity of ink to be used (8). The minimal ink quantity (4) is stored in the ink tank (1), while the quantity of ink to be used (8) is directly applied onto the ductor roller (2).
