<p>An EAS tag or label deactivator (1) having a central area (2) and an edge area (3) bordering the central area (2). The central area (2) is formed from magnetic regions (4) having alternating magnetic polarities arranged in a checkerboard pattern. The edge area (3) is formed from a linear multipole magnet having magnetic regions of alternating polarity. The sides of the magnetic regions of the linear multipole magnetic are sized to be of lesser extent than the sides of the adjacent magnetic regions of the central area (1).</p> |
