Procedure for establishing energy losses in power train, between energy source and driving motor of vehicle during driving operation

The procedure involves the IC engine feeding an electric driving motor via. a generator by a central electronic unit, especially an on-board computer. The central electronic unit establishes an energy balance from the energies of the individual components, engine, generator, electric driving motor and car state. With the help of the this energy balance, it establishes whether and where an energy loss is present. The central electronic unit determines the energy transmitted by the engine via the generator to the motor from the following data: injection quantity, engine speed, generator voltage and temperature, motor speed and field current.
