<p>A mobile telephone docking station has a housing sized to accommodate communications and power circuitry for a mobile telephone. A mobile telephone docking unit is attached to the housing and extends behind the front surface of the housing to provide a compact profile. The docking unit is sized to receive a mobile telephone. A keypad and a display for displaying status information of the mobile telephone are attached to the front surface of the housing. Preferably a mirrored surface is provided on the front surface between the display and the keypad. A mounting bracket attaches the housing to a vehicle windshield. If a mirrored surface is provided on the front of the housing this docking station can replace the rear view mirror of the vehicle.</p> |
