The friction wheel transmission has an input shaft and at least one output shaft, with the friction wheels between them. The friction wheels are fixed to carriers (16) which have recesses, oval in shape, for the wheels. The long sides (32, 33) of the oval are bounded by the upper wall (36) and the lower wall (37). The oval shape of the recess is a function of the friction radius, the eccentric track and the maximum turning angle.
