The unit to mix cold and hot air flows, in a vehicle heating and air conditioning system, has a number of channels formed by channel walls linked to the air inflows. The channels are opened and closed by slats (44a,44b;46a,46b) for each channel. The movements of the slats are controlled individually or in groups. Each channel can be opened to the cold air flow and the hot air flow.
