The safety device provides rapid discharge of the common intermediate DC circuit (Z) for the motor group, using control devices (S1,S2,..Sn) for controlling the DC/AC converters between the intermediate circuit and the motors (M1,M2,..Mn), upon disconnection of the network voltage supply, for allowing the energy in the intermediate circuit to be dissipated via the electric motors.
