A sealing ring (140) adapted for use in connection with a filter bag assembly (138) of filtering apparatus (110) is disclosed. More particularly, the sealing ring (140) has an annular body having an annular support wall (164) which is sized and shaped so as to be supported on a supporting structure (130) of the filtering apparatus (110). An outer annular wall (162) projects substantially upwardly from the support wall (164), while an inner annular wall (160) projects substantially upwardly from the support wall (164) and is located radially inwardly from the outer wall (162). An annular groove (158) is formed between the inner and outer walls (160, 162) and is delimited by the support wall (164). The outer wall (162) is sized and shaped so as to engage an adjacent sealing surface (132) of the filtering apparatus (110) in a substantially fluid-tight manner, while the support wall (164) is sized and shaped so as to engage the supporting structure (130) in a substantially fluid-tight manner.
