<p>Pure litharge (PbO), free from red lead, Pb metal and heavy metals, is produced from crude oxide (Barton material) in calcination process in air. Calcination is carried out continuously in rotary furnace lined with refractory material, which is inert to Pb and its oxide at temps. up to 850 degrees C. Inner surface of furnace is provided with guide rings whilst non-rotary bearer extending along its inside space has doctor blades between these rings and extending to inner wall. Product is suitable for prodn. of optical glasses and stabilisers for plastics.</p> |
