PROCESS FOR SHAPING A FLAT METAL WORKPIECE

The invention relates to a process for shaping a flat metal workpiece, especially an aluminium sheet, in which the workpiece is heat-treated in the shaped region. According to the invention, the heat treatment is applied by a radiation tool and the shaping is performed after the heat treatment, but within a period in which the material of the workpiece still has an increased capacity for expansion. It is thus possible to heat-treat a relatively narrowly spatially limited shaping region on the workpiece with uncomplicated equipment. The overall process can be made more flexible owing to the time shift between heat treatment and shaping.
