Method for locating a fault (F) in a section of two parallel electrical conductors in which the intensities and voltages are measured at an end (A) of the section and the distance to the fault, d, is determined by solving the following equation in which the fault distance and fault resistance, RF, are variables: B1d<2> + B2d + B3 + B4RF = 0 and parameters B1-B4 are determined. (B1-B4) are determined from the locally measured voltages and intensities and in which the equation is solved for both the real and imaginary parts so that the fault resistance is eliminated. Independent claims are made for a device for fault location and for a software program for determination of fault location. |
