PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dry feeling of gel after water absorption by treating water absorbing resin particles with a polyurethane having polyoxyethylene groups. SOLUTION: Water absorbing resin particles of one or more selected from a crosslinked body of a neutralized body of a polyacrylic acid, a neutralized body of a self-crosslinkable polyacrylic acid, a crosslinked body of a starch- acrylic acid graft copolymer, etc., are treated with a polyurethane obtd. by allowing an isocyanate to react with a polyol having a polyoxyethylene group obtd. by adding ethylene oxide to an active hydrogen-contg. multifunctional compd. such as a polyhydric alcohol or phenol, an amine, a polycarboxylic acid, phosphoric acid or a polythiol. The dry feeling of the resultant gel after water absorption is improved and the gel can be made dry to the touch even after water absorption. |
