PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus capable of executing the sucking operation of ink only from a necessary nozzle orifice. SOLUTION: A valve unit 36 is arranged to the ink supply channel 35 between an ink cartridge 8 and a recording head 7 and constituted so as to control the opening and closing of the valve unit in cooperation with the cleaning operation of the recording head 7. For example, bubbles penetrating into the recording head 7 at a time of the replacement of the cartridge 8 can be discharged by opening the valve unit 36 and, by closing the valve unit arranged to other recording head not replacing the cartridge, wastefulness sucking ink from all of nozzle orifices uniformly can be excluded. Therefore, the load of running cost can be reduced. |
