Azo dyes - contg sulpholanylpyrazole residue, as dyes and pigments

Azo dyes of formula (I) (where R is H, aryl, alkoxy or alkyl, R1 is an organic residue, R2 is H or hydrocarbyl and D is the residue of a mono- or di-cyclic diazo cpd) are prepd. by coupling the diazo cpd. of a mono- or di-cyclic amine with corresp. sulphonaryl aminopyrazole. They have good reserve for wool, and are used for dyeing and printing synthetic fibres, e.g. acrylonitrile (co)polymers, dicyanoethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, polyurethane, polyolefines, cellulose acetate and, esp. polyesters.
