PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injector having a nozzle with variable nozzle holes capable of changing the area to ensure fuel injection from only a first nozzle hole when a nozzle needle is lifted a little, and to prevent leakage of low- pressure fuel from a second nozzle hole. SOLUTION: An injector 1 comprises: a nozzle needle 3 having projecting portion 21 displaced to be capable of sliding in a sliding portion 10 of a nozzle body 2 at the tip end thereof; a spring chamber 32 accommodating coil springs 5; and a first and a second nozzle holes 11, 12 disposed in the sliding portion 10. The injector 1 is constituted so that high-pressure fuel is supplied to only the first nozzle hole 11 from the spring chamber 32 through a fuel passage disposed along the outside periphery of the nozzle needle 3. Accordingly, the area of the fuel passage 23 can be set to have a clearance larger than the area of the nozzle holes. |
